Redmond Farm in Craanford, County Wexford, is approximately five miles outside the market town of Gorey, and is a large farm business spanning 120 hectares of grassland, tillage and vegetable crops. Our beef programme focuses on the rearing of over 1,000 Angus-cross heifer calves each spring.
The resulting cuts of beef are supplied to our family’s two hotels in Gorey; the Ashdown Park and the Amber Springs, our online shop and our production store in Gorey. We have earned a reputation for excellent dining, featuring our tender beef, our own potatoes and our other vegetables under the One Farm * Two Hotels * One Vision which is now extending to “One Farm, two hotels, a butchers, a grocers and local producers”.
Following an intensive period of growing, cooking, creating, testing, reviewing, branding and site building we launched online our Farmhouse Grocer brand
For us we grow what we eat as much as we can, when we can’t we source from our farm and then we search within our county so all of the ingredients for our Farmhouse Grocer come from us and local Wexford producers.
The lockdown taught us how important good food, clean ingredients, no nonsense meals are for our bodies and overall health. We helped feed over 145 homes every night for weeks during the tightest lockdown in March 2020 (amounting to over 11,000 meals). We provided what we hoped people would like – straight forward traditional meals that tend to be family favourites. Fortunately the meals got 100’s of thumbs up and we went on to develop the range and brand and what you see online.
We really hope you enjoy the meals, savour the beef and celebrate all the goodness to come from farm, field and sea from County Wexford and Ireland.
Redmond Farm is a naturally soil enriched environment and works under the Bord Bia Origin Green sustainability programme, winning an award in its most recent Origin Green farm award scheme.
